3D High Intensity Focused Ultrasound
High intensity focused ultrasound technology is being used in various modalities of medicine from cancer therapy to its invaluable use in aesthetic medicine. This treatment involves in the specific depth at which concentrated ultrasound waves are generated which cause heating and subsequent coagulation resulting in cellular death and regeneration with accompanying collagen and elastin. This treatment allows treatment without damage to the epidermis or surface ensuring no down time during the treatment cycles. I utilize this technology for the following applications:
The Science
The energy can be focused to specific areas of concern, targeting the all-important SMAS layer. The SMAS (Superficial Musculoaponeurotic System) is the layer often targeted and utilized during plastic surgery when performing face lifts. By being able to target this layer in treatment we are able to perform lifting in that layer. The effects start to become apparent after about 90-120 days as the entire healing process in that layer is completed. When targeting fat areas or deposits the appropriate layer is chosen and the energy delivered produces apoptosis and fat necrosis causing a reduction in fat of the affected area. By delivering energy to various depths and locations, a resultant injury, inflammation and healing occurs that allows the body to repair the tissue involved in a structured form, similar to the form our skin has when we are young. An absolute brilliant noninvasive treatment for moderate to advanced aging, breast and buttock lifts, and in combination treatments for weight loss and body sculpting.
